Educational Modules
Sean was a Course Developer for a series of educational modules made at the University of Windsor to teach students about accessing resources in an academic library.
As the director and cinematographer of this project, Sean strived to reimagine what was expected from educational media. Rather than using graphics and green screens, Sean took a more visual approach to this project, filming student actors engaging with the real materials discussed in the modules. He aimed to present the library through a more cinematic lens instead of the corporate one that was expected.
Follow the flavours
As part of his role with Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island, Sean runs the Follow the Flavours food trail. Follow the Flavours is a multicultural food trail in Windsor Essex that guides visitors to a variety of unique and culturally rich restaurants around the county.
Sean visits each restaurant within the trail, photographing their food and interviewing the owners and chefs about their history, culture, and food. He later takes the information from his interviews, and writes articles about the restaurants.
Windsor essex art trail
During the 2024 spring, Sean developed a county-wide art trail that allows visitors to engage in a self guided tour of Windsor Essex’s most stunning artistic feats.
Sean researched and located over 300 art pieces throughout all eight municipalities in Windsor Essex, and created a series of comprehensive walking tours.
This project was created as part of Sean’s work with Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island and is currently slated for release in late 2024.
CSa 2024 Gala: A Lovely Night
As vice president of the Communication Student Association at the University of Windsor during the 2023-2024 academic year, Sean worked closely with the president, Mya Bezaire, to plan the CSA’s 2024 gala, A Lovely Night in La La Land.
The gala was an end of year celebration for students in the Communication, Media, and Film, as well as the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film Production programs. With close to 150 students, staff, and alumni in attendance, the goal of the event was to showcase the work of students over the past academic year.
A secondary goal for Sean however was making sure this event was accessible for his fellow peers. Sean and Mya raised over six thousand dollars in sponsorships and fundraising and used those funds to reduce the prices of gala tickets. Selling tickets at rates between thirty-five and fifty dollars and giving away over twenty tickets to students with financial barriers.
Renewal, Tenure & Promotion Committee
During the 2023-2024 academic year, Sean was a member of the Renewal, Tenure & Promotion (RTP) Committee for the Department of Communication, Media, and Film at the University of Windsor.
This was a volunteer position where Sean worked with CMF faculty and the Dean of the Faculty of Arts Humanities and Social Sciences to assess the tenure of professors up for promotion.
UWindsor Convocation
During the summer and fall 2023 convocation ceremonies at the University of Windsor, Sean was the lead camera operator for the broadcast of the ceremony.
Sean stood in the middle of the crowd of graduates and recorded students crossing the stage as well as speeches from the Chancellor and President of the university.
Crossroads historical guide
As part of his work with Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island, Sean assisted in creating their Crossroads Historical Guide, a self guided tour of historical sites throughout the county.
Sean photographed and located a variety of the historic monuments, buildings, and areas.
Student Recovery Services Fair
On September 23rd, 2023, Sean hosted the Student Recovery Services Fair. The event was located in the CAW Student Centre at the University of Windsor and was designed to be a resource for students seeking support from substance use issues and behavioural addictions.
The event was a fair that featured booths from several groups at the university and in the Windsor Essex community that have resources and programs to support students who might be struggling with addiction.
Addiction is a big challenge that many students in post-secondary education face. With this event, Sean strived to show his campus community the resources available to help combat addictive behaviour and in turn start a conversation about the subject, which faces a lot of stigma at universities and colleges.
